August 2007

My friends in Omega 3 just released a great new album called “Flavor Emergency”, and I did a makeshift music video for the song “The Inferno”. Check it out:

Expect some more video collaborations in the future. Check out more Omega 3 at Omega3HipHop.com.

This movie is doing great! Thanks to you all for enjoying it, and thanks again to everybody who helped me out. If you want to help continue it’s success, you could Digg It! if you wanted.

The video is hitting the blogosphere a bit, and it even got on I-am-bored.com, the site that launched “Pac Man” into the stratosphere. And the fine denizens of I Am Bored have offered some amazing comments. Such as…

“I didn’t know a billion dollars could be held in two small sacks”.
Yeah, that’s what we call a “joke”. It was a part of the video that was “planned” in order to enduce “laughs” from “you”.
“..did a kid actually write that?”
You know it!
“I thought the dad was kind of cute, though…”
Congrats, Perry!
“I want my last 5 min of my life back….”
Well, the video is only 2:20, so I’m curious what you were doing for the other 3 minutes. Jerking off…?

And I guess the person deleted their posts since I checked, but somebody was seriously yelling at everyone else for laughing at it, like “This was a dying kids’ wish, you insensitive asshole!” This whole site thought Pac Man was real, so it makes sense that a few would think this truly was Travis’ wish.

At long last. Probably the best of the three.

There are so many talented people in this movie. Here are they:
Perry Smith… Dad
Katie Bode… Mom (and a bunch of other random stuff on this vid)
Brad Schulz… Doctor (and lighting)
Ryan Mitchell… Bank President
Me…. Candy Bank President
Will Hyler… Steve Nash (and director of photography)
Brian Rowe… Shrek

And introducing Preston Strother as Travis! I say “introducing”, but he has more professional credits to his name than anyone I’ve worked with. Thank you, Preston, for stooping down to my level.

One of the best parts of having some mild internet success is getting to read what strangers think of my work! Sometimes, people call me gay and leave behind no trail of information. But some commenters have a rich life outside of making up elaborate ways to insult my videos. Let’s take a look at these folks with a new segment called…

Meet the Commenters!

First up, we’ll look at the comments on my video “Dave Matthews Live”.

Click below to meet the kind of people who disagree with my exceedingly accurate Dave Matthews impression.

That thing where you click and say it’s funny? Do it again!

BTW, it’s slightly, slightly re-edited and visually improved. Can you tell the difference? I’m sure you can’t.

This week, I accomplished something impressive: 5 days at Universal in a row. This was a common thing last summer, but this summer, it is quite a task to get through. Why? Well, I shall map it out with an equation if you’ll continue below:

You might think that the only resident of my house who can make elaborate tributes to themselves is Brian Rowe. But I too have put much effort into reevaluating past ideas. In fact, my personal favorite cinematic accomplishment, President Brown, was actually based on a movie I made once before.

Less of a movie than an elaborate scheme by Ryan Mitchell and I to make many of our friends read the worst monologue in history, delivered by a fake president. We only got one guy to do it. Years later, that monologue became the basis for Martin Van Buren’s monologue in the movie, and the story of President Brown was told in full. Compare the two!

I’ve decided to throw some of my stuff on Funnyordie.com, starting with “Host Barn”. If you haven’t seen it, give it a watch below, then, assuming you enjoy it, click “Funny”, not “Die”. Simple enough? I appreciate it as always.

In other news, Collegehumor.com vid #3 should be up soon. It’s gonna be a good one.

College Humor put this on Youtube. It’s doing relatively well over there.

“Make Your Own Iris” contest winner Ignacio has officially given a victory speech. Watch below! Congrats again Ignacio, sweatshirt info coming soon.

Also, I’ve updated scottgairdner.com/iris with the entire story of “Iris”. Check it out!
